Having gained more and more trust from the people, in 2 years time after it's establishment, PKPU was then appointed as one of National Zakah Collectors by Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Cemara Youth Centre runs weekly discussions on youth related popular issues, such as pornography among youth, drugs, and well as HIV/AIDS. Cemara also organize school outreach on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS awareness. The volunteers in Cemara has just established the CareForce, which is targeted at gathering more than 1500 students on Wolrd AIDS day, December 1, 2008.

The Co-operative focuses on giving mocrofinance to less-fortunate people who wants to start a business of their own. The co-operative has a small counter in Alai area near a traditional market and it's main members have been merchants local market.

Was established in response to the big earthquakefollowed by devastating Tsunami that struck Aceh in 2004. Based on the information released in National Geographic, Padang is a city with the highest risk of Tsuami damage provided that more than half of it's population live in coastal area (less than 5m above the sea level). Therefore, disaster preparedness should be introduced to the public. Several activities conducted by KOGAMI are education and training for school children, evacuation mapping for several coastal cities in West Sumatera, policy recommendation, and public campaign.

A programme established by Ministry of Education to overcome illiteracy problem faing Indonesia. PLS reaching those who are not able to go to school or those who are no longer at the school age. Under this scheme, drop out students as well as illiterate adults are encouraged to go to informal class where age and uniform no longer matter. They are being taught functional literacy, life skill and simple math.

Assist the community by conducting matriculation programmes for drop out students. Located in the fisherman community, this PKBM faces more challenges in convincing both parents and their children on the importance of education as parents usually encourage their children to go to the sea rather than school.
